Responsibilities of a Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent:

  1. Your day begins at the depot, where you’ll sort and prepare deliveries.
  2. Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
  3. Spend most of your day outdoors, delivering mail and packages by foot and vehicle on your designated route.
  4. Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for the next set of deliveries.

Qualifications for a Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent:

  • Possess a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license with a safe driving record (a minimum of 3 years with a driver’s abstract required).
  • Physical strength to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) daily.
  • Adaptability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Flexibility for on-call assignments.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and/or French.
  • A background in customer service.
  • Prior experience with deliveries or as a driver.
